About Dr. Sally Fisher, Medical Director at Sunrise Springs

Sally Fisher, MD brings an unwavering passion for evidence-based integrative and nutritional medicine to Sunrise Springs. Her desire and intention is to have those she works with feel deeply that she is fully present, with warmth, humor, and knowledge, as she helps people to explore ways of enhancing their health and wellness. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Dr. Fisher enjoys sharing her extensive training and experience in integrative, nutritional, preventive and functional medicine.

Dr. Fisher began her professional career by interning at the North Shore University Hospital/New York University School of Medicine. Subsequently, she completed her residency at Mt. Sinai/New York University School of Medicine in Preventive, Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She also participated in the fellowship program in Holistic Medicine at Columbia University School of Medicine. More recently, Dr. Fisher worked as an integrative medicine/preventive medicine clinic physician at the University of New Mexico Center for Life. Dr. Fisher currently has a private practice in Albuquerque where she practices integrative, preventative, and nutritional medicine.

Dr. Fisher received her B.A. in Psychology from Yale University summa cum laude. She then earned her M.D. at the University of New Mexico, where she received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Senior. Dr. Fisher earned her M.S. in Community Medicine at Mt. Sinai/New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Fisher is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine and the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.

In a future life, Sally hopes to run a teashop. Until then, she enjoys sharing this passion with others by serving tea at the start of each medical consultation. Sally also makes it a point to stay connected to nature, the breath, and to honor compassion and gratitude. She is especially grateful to have the opportunity practice medicine at Sunrise Springs.

Ayurveda medicine is a 5,000-year-old practice that emphasizes the underlying root of imbalance in all areas of life. In this balance-restoring consultation, a practitioner will address your current diet, lifestyle, stress management tools and state of health, and make healing recommendations through the use of herbs, nutrition, aromatherapy oils, massage, meditation, and yoga. End your session with the insight to take your Ayurvedic healing to a deeper level and cleanse, nurture and rejuvenate your health.

Chiropractic Session Requires 48-hour advanced booking
The practice of chiropractic care focuses on the examination of the spine to evaluate structure and function, and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In this healing session, your licensed chiropractor, manipulations may be made to correct alignment, alleviate pain, improve function and support your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Take-home corrective exercises will be provided for long-term benefits.

Posture & Wellbeing Requires 48-hour advanced booking
Even in the absence of pain, many of us know that we are not sitting, standing and moving optimally. Postural imbalances can lead to misalignment that can result in pain and other health problems. An evaluation by our chiropractor will assess your posture and body alignment, and provide recommendations to
restore natural body mechanics. Experience greater comfort and mental clarity.
